Mission

The mission of the American Guild of Organists (AGO) is to foster a thriving community of musicians who share their knowledge and passion for the organ and choral music. Membership is offered through more than 250 local chapters. For purposes of administration, the AGO is divided into seven geographical regions. The Boston Chapter is in the Northeast Region.

Individual chapters typically offer recitals, educational events, newsletters, training for young organists, rosters of substitute organists, and open position listings. Boston features all of those activities plus unique programs that include an organ library housed at Boston University, a forum for emerging artists, grant funding for special projects related to the organ, an organ advisory committee, and a friends membership category for non-organists.
