Individuals interested in the organ and choral music fields are invited to join the American Guild of Organists. Membership is open to everyone, regardless of denominational affiliation or musical ability.
You may join through the national headquarters as a chapter-affiliated member, a dual member (a member of two or more chapters), or an independent member (no local chapter association).
Friend memberships are handled directly by the Boston Chapter and are for non-organists. We invite organ enthusiasts, vendors, organ builders and maintenance firms, instrumentalists, instrumental or vocal ensembles, vocalists, composers, and conductors to join under the chapter friend category. As a chapter friend you can elect to appear on our website advertising section in the appropriate category.
NATIONAL MEMBERSHIP ONLY
Benefits of a national membership include access to job postings, special rates with partner companies, eligibility for high-quality insurance plans, reduced fees for certification exams, reduced rates for conventions, subscription to the monthly magazine The American Organist, and voting rights at the national level.

Young Organist (less than 30 years old): $60
Regular Member (30-64 years old): $120
Special Member (65 or older): $95

Chapter membership benefits include national benefits plus free admission to all chapter events, the chapter newsletter, access to local position listings, inclusion on the substitute list, use of the organ library at BU, the ability to list events on the community calendar, subscription to the monthly magazine The American Organist, and voting rights at the chapter and national level.

Young Organist (less than 30 years old): $60
Regular Member (30-64 years old): $120
Special Member (65 or older): $95
DUAL/SECONDARY CHAPTER DUES
Young Organist: $20 per additional chapter
Regular Member: $45 per additional chapter
Special Member: $35 per additional chapter

CHAPTER FRIEND MEMBERSHIP
For non-organists only, benefits of being a chapter friend include free admission to all chapter events, the chapter newsletter, the ability to list events on the community calendar, and an optional listing on the chapter website as a vendor, organ builder or maintenance firm, an instrumentalist, an instrumental or vocal ensemble, a singer, a composer, or a choral conductor interested in substituting or performing.
ANNUAL DUES (paid through the chapter)
Friend with No Listing on the Website: $30
Friend with Regular Listing on the Website: $30
Friend with Boosted Listing on the Website: $45
A regular listing includes name, method to contact, and a brief description.
A boosted listing has double the space and can additionally accommodate a logo and an enhanced description.

CODE OF ETHICS AND PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS
Members of the American Guild of Organists agree to abide by a set of ethics and standards that foster a good interaction of professional musicians in the myriad of employment situations to which these members are parties. As such, it has issued a Code of Ethics, a Code of Professional Standards, and a Policy Against Harassment, as well as other policies. These can be read and downloaded from the national website here.
